i made a star quilt 6 months back measuring 60 in x 50 in using Kaufman black and white for my daughter as throw. I was quite impressed with it. when IQF announced the miniature category, I decided to do the same quilt with same color combination. After starting, I realized that Kaufman is little thick for miniature. I went ahead and finished. being a small quilt, I did the assembly myself in my domestic sewing machine. i did stippling with white thread on the white portion. any color looks dominant on pure black or pure white. So, I used invisible thread for the star area to retain the fabric color.
