Bombay like most of India, has her hot season, where we get to enjoy beautiful fruits like mangos, but unfortunately as children, we weren’t able to enjoy strawberries in winter.In those months, we would enjoy the cooler climate with picnics outdoors surrounded by flowers.And as any Indian picnic goes, out came the bottle of limbu pani, tea and food.Those picnics hold many memories of being together and happy. Strawberry Petal Punch is my expression of those times.The curved piecing recreates the flowers and the bold, bright colors represent my emotions surrounding those memories.This Modern style, along with the facing creates a more contemporary quilt, and the straight line quilting using the walking foot is a representation of my journey
