This is my first ever quilt and hand applique work. I am a sculptor but when my baby was born I wanted to use a medium which would give me greater flexibility to work with and safe for the kid to be around. I discovered the master Vatasla Kamat madam's Tsala studio. Immensely grateful for her generosity in teaching me! So this quilt if for Ruhi! I was inspired by our then garden and a couple of red whiskered bulbuls who nested at the same spot for three years while we were there. This experience of quilting brought me new and beautiful friendships, registering and acknowledging the resilience and patience that is there in me. My friend Vivienne encouraged me to do one stitch at a time and keep the faith that I will be able to complete it
