Last year has been challenging in many ways for all of us. Be it a tight lockdown or worldwide protests we have all felt helpless in some way or the other. But I came across a video of 14th Dalai Lama talking about how kindness is his religion and it taught me that the simplest thing that we can do at a time like this is be kind to each other. I call this portrait quilt " Kindness " as the 14th Dalai Lama personifies it in every single way.

I used hand dyed fabrics for this portrait. The outline is done with zigzag stitches of different length and width. The background quilting is inspired by auspicious Tibetan design
