This composition is inspired by a cryptic diagram, believed to be the representation of the goddess of learning - Devi Saraswati. It normally is drawn in lines, with clinical precision and without masses and colours. It is a perfectly balanced form with an intrinsic potential of endless growth but I always found it a little static. I tried to add some dynamic elements to it by enlivening the lines that shoot up in various directions. I also supplemented it with the riot of primary colours to enhance the complexity of that form. I wanted to underline the symbolic significance of this form so I did the quilting in whirling lines in Kantha stitch to indicate the flow of knowledge from this mysterious core which is stitched with hidden tie.
