Kasuti Embroidery is an ancient art of Karnataka which developed during the reign of Chalukyas, Hoysalas and Vijayanagara dynasties. It is based on geometrical design of Karnataka Folklore with 4 variety of stitches. All the 4 variety of stitches are incorporated in my quilt. It was used as a decorative stitch on saress in particular and few other things too.
The signature impression of Kasuti Embroidery is the similarity of design both in the front and back. This is what inspired me to create this quilt by hand,. My quilt is embellished with Priare Points which serves as a border.
