Mayilattam or peacock dance is an artistic and religious dance performed during the harvest festival of Thai Pongal in the temples of Kerala and Tamilnadu. This Artpiece depicts the nuances of a peacock dance captured by a spectator who is enjoying this sight from a distance through a veil of pouring rain. Peacock feathers are often associated with the third eye of self-awareness in spiritual symbolism. Emerging from the Jharokha textured rain veil is a Hand painted peacock. This Artpiece has been created in mix-media techniques with luxurious fabric swatches of silks, organza, tissues & brocades. Surface Ornamentation has been given to emphasize the magnificence of both the plumage and the exquisite temple courtyard.
