I had decided I wanted to make a quilt in the traditional manner- taking old material and making something new from it. I asked my co-workers for pieces of old clothes and was approached by a supervisor who gave me two of her mothers saris. Her mother had passed and she wished to have something beautiful made to remember her. Thus was born this quilt. It is not just a blanket or a piece of art. It is a memory book woven in cloth.
