This quilt is pure nostalgia and it takes me back to my life in the United Kingdom, when my son was a little boy.
Weekends were visits to the countryside - open spaces and fresh air and company - we went with other families and their kids. The boys used to love playing in the open fields and would often gaze at the sheep and cattle grazing in the pastures.
The subtle colours of my hexagons interspersed with black and white reminded me of the fenced fields and pastures.
