As an artist, my concept for this project is pride & politics; I have developed the product with eco waste found near my house. Upcycling is recognized as one of the most sustainable waste management options in the circular economy, I wanted to combine my thoughts as an artist to battle racism around the world along with the ability as a designer to create something meaning full for the society. Hence I came up with this beautiful work of art which I have named Hephe. The technique I chose for my artwork is Chiaroscuro which is employed in visual arts to represent light and shadow as they define 3-dimensional objects. This piece of the quilt is not just a quilt it’s the though as an artist and designer to tell the world.
