Inspired by thermal imaging,(infrared radiation),this self-portrait observes the dark surrealism of Doomsdays 2020.The narrowed vision focusses on critical things such as our dependence on internet connectivity, and our reluctance to groom and dress for ourselves. Nightclothes transcend into daywear,shows are binge watched while towel wrapped hair dries of its own accord. Moustaches and beards(on both sexes) grow lush and wild.Appearances of mankind and manmade structures head to a natural state of being.The jarring colours symbolise activity and anxiety as social creatures are forced into hibernation.The raw edge appliqué and scribbled quilting highlight the despondent and restless mind.
