The quilt is an homage to the 19 year old young Dalit woman from Hathras in UP, India who was gang raped and left to die on a field after she was mauled and mangled. She later died in a hospital after naming her perpetrators. The quilt is also a promise to all persons who lost their life to violent sexual crimes that we do our bit to speak about the injustice and we will not forget. It is our responsibility to let the children roam freely among the deers and birds without fear.
