A weaver and felter, I work with water colours and oils. This background inspired me to express the uniqueness of nature and flowers in this quilt artform with wool fibres. Imitating nature with fabric, thread is challenging and I successfully navigated through to create the clouds in the sky and the bee on the flower. About the quilt : Silk fabric, about 12 shades of corridale wool, yarns, miyuki, toho, czech and preciosa beads and crystals. Techniques used - Three forms of felting - Nuno, wet & needle felting. It is a multi-layered (3,5,7) felting done on a silk cloth which serves as a batting, surface embellishments by embroidered hand stitches with silk yarns and Yarn couching and lots of beads.
